The San Jose Sharks have been on a roll as of last having won 8 of their last 10 games. The Sharks head up to the Great White North to play the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday and then head back home and host the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. The Sharks sits 1 point out of 8th place in the West and hope to keep the winning tread going to make their way into the playoff picture.
It's also looks like the Sharks have done another deal.
The Sharks are sending defenseman Brian Lee to the St. Louis Blues for defenseman Sami Salo.
"I thought I was done dealing." Said Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore. "I had seen the Blues' trade block and inquired about the dmen that were available. We had seen that Sami has been putting up some decent offensive numbers and we think we could use that. So a deal was hammered out while Tony was driving and I was sitting on my ass at home."

Sharks say good bye to fellow GM, Have win over Blues.
The San Jose Sharks took on the St. Louis Blues on the evening that it was announced that their GM Gavin Gear would be stepping down from the helm of the Blues organization.
"It was definite a shock." Said Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore. "I was surprised to hear that he was stepping down. But that's the way life goes. We are sad to see him go and all here at the Sharks organization offer Gavin the best of luck in his future endeavours."
The Sharks came into this game on a one game winning streak after struggling for a few games. They had beat Edmonton 5-3 last night and were in town in St. Louis to take on the Blues.
The Blues team on the ice must also had been shocked with GM Gear's news of his stepping down. The Blues were up 3-1 on the Sharks. But close to the half way point of the 3rd period, the Sharks tied up the game in the span of 15 seconds to send the game to the extra frame. Kyle Okposo scored the game winner with his hat trick goal 57 seconds into overtime to give the Sharks another much needed win.
The Sharks head back home to play the Blues again tomorrow. They hope to see a better team out there but at the same time are hoping for the same result.

Lehtonen on All-Star Ballot

If anyone on our team deserves to be on the All Star Ballot is Kari." Said Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore. "The team as a whole has been struggling as of late but Kari has, for the most part, been consistent, game in and game out. We are hoping he gets voted in and he can showcase his talent at the All-Star game." Lehtonen is currently sitting in 7th for goals against with a GAA of 2.26. He also has a steady save percentage of .925.

One way ticket to California?
Apprently the San Jose Sharks have pulled the trigger on another deal. The Sharks have been hunting for another scorer to add to their line up and it looks as if they have found it. Even though there has been no official confirmation from the league office, the word around the campfire is this is what the apparent deal is:
To Toronto: Konrad Abeltshauser D (Prospect), MIN 1 2012
To San Jose: Daniel Alfredsson RW, CHI 3 2012, TOR 6
The Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore was unable for comment at the time this tidbit of info hit the press late last night. If this deal is true, the Sharks get the boost to their offense they were looking for and Toronto has sent their captain to the sunny land of California.
