Apr 17/2012, San Jose, CA - The San Jose Sharks held their annual yearly awards on Tuesday night after the 2012 season had finished. The players and families attended a banquet and there was a meet and greet for the fans afterwards.
The following hardware was shelled out on Tuesday night:
Forward of the year - Patrick Marleau
Dman of the year - Dustin Byfuglien
Hardest Hitter Award (Most hits) - Dustin Byfuglien
Best Plus/Minus - Richard Petiot
Trigger Happy Award (Most Shots) - Patrick Marleau
Best Faceoff Percentage - Patrick Marleau
Rookie of the Year - Chris Bourque
Most Valuble Player - Kari Lehtonen/Patrick Marleau
"Everyone had a good time tonight, even though the season is over." Said Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore. "We all had a good time and even again, we had a tough season, everyone's excited to come back next season."
The team's players will be going their seperate ways for the summer until camp starts up. Sharks GM Kurt Fulmore will be out scouting, getting ready for the 2012 Entry Draft. It looks like the Sharks will be selecting 3rd overall in the draft this year.
